Increasing the active population with MoveGB

MoveGB, the online fitness platform getting more people active for life, is supporting the ukactive Promising Practice Regional Roadshow in Bristol on Thursday 4 May, illustrating how its collaboration with operators is helping to drive up physical activity levels.

Launched in Bristol and Bath in 2013, MoveGB provides users with access to more than 2,000 venues and activities across its network, all within one flexible membership plan. MoveGB partner operators offer everything from yoga, boot camps and gym-based sessions through to watersports, cycling and climbing. The diversity of classes offered means ‘Movers’ are motivated to attend more frequently and stay longer, almost twice as long as the industry average.

MoveGB will be showcasing results from more than 25,000 participants in Bristol who have subscribed to the company's programme, which has doubled the profits for most MoveGB partners. The unique business model closely aligns the behaviour of exercisers with the commercial models of fitness operators. Partner operators receive a constant stream of high-value, long-term members at zero cost of acquisition or contractual tie-in. In return, ‘Movers’ can enjoy unlimited use of hundreds of providers in their city, and thousands beyond.

As the largest provider of ‘flexible memberships’ to the UK health and fitness industry, MoveGB is leading the way in increasing activity levels of the population and creating a sustainable model of exercise by removing as many barriers as possible.
